Facilitators: Lorna M. Campbell, CETIS Deputy Director, and Phil Barker, CETIS Metadata and Digital Repository Coordinator.

This theme will investigate what requirements the JISC funded teaching and learning focused repository projects place on reference models, and whether these may be incorporated into reference models developed for the wider repository domain. We will include:

  • introductions to current work on repository reference models;
  • identification of some the types of repository relevant to the eLearning domain;
  • identification of some high-level requirements of eLearning-related repositories.

An overview of this strand is available:
Repositories Theme Strand report (MS Word, 81 KB).

Presentation

Discussion of the different types repository relevant to eLearning, as illustrated by, for example, McLean and Blinco's "Wheel of Fortune", and whether the different types have different implications for the business requirements and process of a reference model. We will focus on drawing out concrete requirements that can be fed into future repository reference models.
