Now there is a quicker way to create the SUM diagram that is required for the SUM description documentation. Just download the Visio file for a Blank SUM Diagram (Visio, 80 kB), then add your information and modify the diagram to fit your SUM. Simply copy/paste additional shapes as needed, or drag shapes onto the layout grid from the handy SUM Diagram Stencil file (Visio, 40 kB). There you will find the basic SUM diagram shapes: business process description, business process name, service genre or expression, SUM, and data resource. (You can still create your SUM diagrams in whatever software you prefer to use; you do not have to use these diagram aids.)
