Several new SUMs now available for comment; the Technical Editor requests that comments from the community are posted prior to 15 October 2007.
If you need a wiki account to access the SUM descriptions, go to: https://e-framework.usq.edu.au/users/wiki
This SUM describes how a community can develop a shared collection of resources by tagging the resources and then using a bookmarking service to record the URIs into a single account. The resources remain in their original repositories while their bookmarks/URIs are fed to the community's wiki where members can manage and filter the collection. The SUM was developed for JISC-CETIS.
This SUM addresses the admissions process within an e-Portfolio context, detailing the types of services needed for a candidate to assemble the relevant information for the application from their e-Portfolio. The "output" of the SUM is a Structured Personal Statement: a collection of data about the applicant that is to be used in the application process after application. The SUM was developed for JISC.
This SUM describes how OpenURL Router provides a central registry of an institution's OpenURL resolvers at openurl.ac.uk, thus enabling any service provider to route users from that institution with OpenURL links to the proper resolver. OpenURL Router is sponsored by JISC and administered by EDINA in association with UKOLN.
Also of interest is a Service Expression that allows users to search for metadata using geospatial data search terms; it specialises the search service genre through binding to the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Standard for spatial metadata and use of a Z39.50-based binding. The Go-Geo! project has implemented this expression:http://www.gogeo.ac.uk/
